What is Alternative Learning?
Alternative learning, offers flexible, personalised learning support for children and young people who may not thrive in a traditional school setting. It provides tailored learning approaches that recognise each young person’s individual needs, strengths, and circumstances.
Alternative provision can support young people who face challenges such as anxiety, social or emotional needs, difficulties with education settings or life experiences that impact learning. It focuses on re-engaging young people, building confidence, and helping them succeed in ways that work for them.
Every young person deserves access to education that helps them feel safe, supported, and capable of achieving their potential. Alternative learning creates space for young people to learn at their own pace, in a one-to-one setting with trusted adults who understand their needs.

SEND TA
Support
We offer flexible in-school support from experienced specialist teaching assistants. Whether your setting needs support for a full day, part of the day, on a regular schedule, or as short term spot support, we can step in to provide consistent, skilled input that supports young people and the team around them.

Alternative Learning Support
Our Alternative Learning Support team works alongside young people and families who need something different from the traditional education journey.
We understand that learning and development don’t look the same for everyone, and that exploring alternative pathways can sometimes feel confusing or isolating.
While we are not a tutoring service, we provide personalised support that focuses on wellbeing, engagement, confidence, and progression helping young people work towards outcomes that traditional settings may struggle to meet. Including preparing for adulthood and transitional support.
We support home-educated young people, those finding it difficult to attend school, and families who need guidance during transitions between settings or key phase changes.
Whether you’re exploring options, facing challenges, or looking for direction, we’re here to make the process clearer and to ensure every young person can access the right support at the right time.

EOTAS Practitoner
We can also be part of an EOTAS package a personalised education plan arranged by the local authority when school is not suitable for a child or young person.EOTAS (Education Otherwise Than At School) is a legal alternative to school-based education under Section 61 of the Children and Families Act 2014. It allows for flexible, often multi-agency approaches to education and support, delivered in environments that are better suited to the child’s needs. We can provide specialist support, helping to create meaningful, nurturing experiences outside of traditional school settings.
